Hi Maximilian, thank you very much for your question and interest in Roland Berger. When starting a full-time position, you will start in a specific area of expertise (CC) from day one. This way you'll be able to gain in depth expertise in a certain area. However, this is not decided for eternity. Of course you can also change your area of expertise at a later point. But no matter where you start at Roland Berger, you will always have a broad thematic range of different projects.

Thanks Evelyn! But am I correctly assuming that switching between CCs is not done for every project but rather requires the initiatives of the consultant?

That's correct. But of course you can do projects in other areas of expertise (CCs) without changing your CC. This is something our Consultants would usually discuss with their mentors.

Hi Evelyn, building on Maximilian's question, how would you suggest a candidate tailor the CV and approach during the interviews considering 9-year experience across industry in management consulting? Should I try to focus on an industry, or a business function?

Hi Cecilia, thank you for your questions. I would say it depends on where you want to further develop in the future. If you want to continue working in a business function, I would focus on the projects that you did in the past in this field of expertise. If you want to continue in a certain industry, focus on that. But also, if you're undecided, you don't have to come to a final decision before the interviews. This would be something we would be happy to discuss with you in order to find the perfect match for you within Roland Berger

That's good to hear Evelyn. I'll finish my MBA in March 2022, is there a specific deadline for applying I should follow, or can I apply now?

You can apply right away. Usually, we ask our applicants to apply 3-6 months before the desired entry date.
