Do you already see a movement towards integrated solutions of urban mobility (individual AND public transport)?
Additional information
Current developments like autonomous driving (including 5G) and electric cars seem to focus on individual transport. Looking into increasing congestion of cities like Munich, a signficiant increase in public transport seems to be important for the future. Are there already ideas or approaches to combine different levels of transport?

Hello Johannes.
Yep, there are already approaches to implement autonomous driving and EVs in public transport. In China, for examples, there are cities which only operate electric busses. And Autonomous driving will be implemented in robocabs / shuttle services, actually even leading to creater benefit than autonomous driving in private cars.

Hello Stephan, thank you very much for your insights. Maybe to elaborate on it: I believe that cities face a very large challenge to cope with the change in transport. Infrastructure for autonomous driving, charge stations for electric cars and increasing the volume of public transport does not only cost a lot of money but probably also takes a long time to perform. Would you agree? And if, how would you Germany and German cities being prepared or preparing compared to the rest of the world, in particular emerging countries like China?

Yes it is a challenge for cities but as well a large lever to reduce local emissions (electrifications) and potential reduce traffic (if applied right). Building up infrastructure is actually more a challenge for electrification than atomisation. Some other countries (mainly in Asia, NA and Middle East) show stronger commitment towards both topics than German cities.

Thank you for these insights. I expected Asia to be more commited. Interesting to learn that NA is as well.
