Do you recommend joining the consulting business early in your career or rather after approx. 3-6 years of experience?

Meaning: Do you look for a solid background in the field an applicant is applying for (e.g. I work as an MD & in basic medical research and I'm interested in Life Sciences/Pharma consulting); or is it more important to join the consulting business early in your career to gain experience "on the job"?

Dear Debbie, that's a great question. We are definitely looking for both profiles/levels of experience. Both are important for our daily work. Junior consultants are not expected to bring in in-depth industry experience, they will acquire the industry experience on the job. At the same time, we are also interested in more experienced hires who enrich us with their external expertise.
